The 2010 Philippine Bar Exam Bombing

On September 26, 2010, a serious bombing occurred near De La Salle University on Taft Avenue in Manila, Philippines. It happened at about 5:05 p.m., only a few minutes after Philippine Bar examinees began leaving the university. A Mk2 grenade was thrown at a group of Alpha Phi Beta members from San Beda College. They were standing near members of Tau Gamma Phi. Police believed that the second group was the real target of the explosive. The bombing injured 47 people. Two people needed amputations. The site was in Malate, Manila, near De La Salle University. The incident therefore connects a precise date, time, place, and two groups. The facts identify the object as a Mk2 grenade, but they do not explain who threw it. They also do not provide further details about the people involved or later events. September 26 remains connected with this serious incident in Manila.
