Trochilidae: una familia de aves en vuelo

Trochilidae: A Family Name in One Photograph

Trochilidae is the scientific name for a family of birds. It is not the name of one individual bird. In this photograph, we can see one bird from this family. It is flying in front of a dark, soft background. Its long, thin bill points straight ahead. The bird has a dark eye and light gray and white feathers. Green feathers are visible on its back. Its body is clear, but its wings look blurred. This shows that the wings are moving during the photograph. The tail points down, and the feet are not easy to see. The picture is interesting because the bird seems to stay in one place while it flies. However, the supplied facts give no information about this family’s size, home, food, or behavior. Therefore, the safest fact is simple: Trochilidae is a family of birds, shown here by one bird in flight.
